Frequently Asked Questions

Important answers about Spain visa route documents and sworn translation requirements.

What is a Sworn Translation (Traducción Jurada)?

keyboard_arrow_down
A Sworn Translation is an official, certified translation of documents into Spanish, completed and stamped by a "Traductor Jurado" (Sworn Translator) appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (MAEC). Any official document not written in Spanish must be sworn translated to be accepted by Spanish consulates or public registries.

Why must documents be Apostilled before Sworn Translation?

keyboard_arrow_down
The Hague Apostille certifies the legal authenticity of a government document (like a birth certificate or police check) internationally. Sworn translators translate the entire document, including the Apostille stamp. Therefore, you must obtain the Apostille in your country of origin first, and then send it to us for Sworn Translation.

Do I need to translate bank statements?

keyboard_arrow_down
For residency visas like the Digital Nomad Visa or Non-Lucrative Visa, some consulates accept bank statements in English, but many require them to be translated. Providing a sworn translation of bank certificates, salary summaries, and key entries is highly recommended to avoid delays or visa rejections.

Can I apply for the Spain Digital Nomad Visa as a tourist inside Spain?

keyboard_arrow_down
Yes, you can enter Spain on a tourist visa (or visa-free) and submit your Digital Nomad Residency application online directly to the UGE (Unidad de Grandes Empresas) in Madrid. Doing so grants you a 3-year residency permit immediately, compared to a 1-year visa if applied through a consulate abroad.
